Reflection Session #3: Endless War
Featuring Guest Garret Reppenhagen, Veterans for Peace
Tuesday, November 10, 2020
6-7:30pm Central / 7-8:30pm Eastern
In September 2020, Art2Action launched a year-long series of "Reflection Sessions" on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, leading up to the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. Presented by The Carver Community Cultural Center, in conjunction with our 2021 community-engaged theatre project "Eleven Reflections: San Antonio," the online Reflection Sessions are live, interactive, art-based, participatory events reflecting on our nation in the post-9/11 era. Each session will be grounded in a performance excerpt from Eleven Reflections on September, by Andrea Assaf, with special guest artists, creative prompts, and facilitated dialogue.
On the eve of Armistice Day, November 10th, our third Reflection Session will feature the two poems in the Eleven Reflections series--Dreaming..., and Autumn Stream--by Lebanese American theatre artist Andrea Assaf, in conversation with special guest Garret Reppenhagen, Iraq War veterand and the current Executive Director of Veterans for Peace (VFP). Join us for a special evening of powerful work and creative conversation, and learn more about resources for veterans and peace-building.
