Join us for a very special 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Veteran Community Open Mic! Art2Action presents the 10th Anniversary in partnership with Alternate ROOTS, featuring special ROOTS guests Linda Parris-Bailey (co-founder of the Veteran's Open Mic!), Omari Fox & New DangerArts Movement, and more! Co-hosts Andrea Assaf and BlacJak return, with music by your favorite Soul & Hip Hop DJ Cotton!

The #VeteransOpenMic started in September 2013 at Sacred Grounds Coffee House, with Linda and Andrea co-hosting, supported by Alternate ROOTS. Now, 10 years later, we're excited to celebrate with you at a new location: Skipper's Smokehouse! ROOTS Members from around the region are invited to join our Tampa Bay community, so RSVP in advance if you want to be sure to get on the Mic! Sign up, tell your friends, and stay tuned for updates -- including more special guest artists and 10th-anniversary surprises!

The Veteran Community Open Mic is a creative space for Veterans, families, community members, caregivers, allies, and Artists of all kinds. It's a creative and courageous space, where all people are welcome regardless of identity, a space where we can bring our full selves, listen, share, and grow together.

First time on the mic? Seasoned poet, musician or storyteller? Just want to listen? No problem! Your level of involvement is what you want it to be, no pressure! You can sign-up to share, or just come and be enjoy the performances!

Open Mic sign-up spots are up to 5 minutes each, in any genre or creative form.  Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. You can sign-up for the Open Mic in advance, through this registration form. OR, you're welcome to just show up, bring friends, and sign-up if you get inspired!
