About the Event

FREE Workshop for Black & Women of Color Writers!

Join co-facilitators Silk Jazmyne Hindus and Andrea Assaf for a guided creative process including Story Circles and writing exercises on the theme of Racial Justice. Refreshments provided.

Please note: This is a live, in-person event. We ask all participants to be respectful of everyone's safety, and join us in practicing covid-prevention protocols. If you have not been fully vaccinated, we ask that you to wear a mask during the workshop, and at all times indoors at our host venue, Meditative Ybor.

This workshop is offered by Art2Action and Kitchen Table Literary Arts, in association with USF Dance. Participants will be invited to contribute writing, if they wish, toward the development of a new multidisciplinary collaboration, "Murmurs of the River: Race, Memory and Identity" organized by USF professor and choreographer Jeanne Travers. Sharing your writing is completely voluntary, and not required for workshop participation. Contributed writings will be edited by Art2Action's Andrea Assaf, and may become a part of the resulting Dance Film, performed by USF Theatre and Dance students in Fall 2021.
