WORLD PREMIERE!Amor Eterno: A Requiem for Pulse is a new work by award-winning composer Saunder Choi, commissioned to mark the 10th anniversary of the tragic Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. LGBTQ+ poets Amir Rabiyah, Leo Herrera, Andrea Assaf, and Brian Sonia-Wallace embarked on the creation of a text tracing grief, longing, loss, and the persistence of love despite everything in the decade since the shooting. In conjunction with Juneteenth and Pride month, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) will present the premiere of Amor Eterno: A Requiem for Pulse, a 45-minute choral work featuring soloists bass-baritone Enrico Lagasca and soprano Elisse Albian. As part of a concert entitled Invincible: A Pride Concert of Remembrance, Resilience, and Song, the GMCSF will be joined by the Orlando Gay Chorus, and the Gay Men's Chorus of Tampa Bay, and the Symphony of the Americas. It promises to be a spectacular evening, “an affirmation of the LGBTQ+ community's ability to rise above hate and move forward with love and joy.” - GMCSF Artistic Director Gabe Salazar.

We rose: 49 phoenixes / aflame in our impeccable beauty / to take our place among the stars / ¡A bailar con libertad! / Among the stars… / ¡Amar con libertad! / Grieve with love, not hate.”

- Excerpt from Amor Eterno: A Requiem for Pulse, the 5th movement by Andrea Assaf
