HTownVotes LIVE!

“HTownVotes LIVE!” aims to reach music and fine art fans where they already are, online, to inform and empower. The pandemic has inextricably altered the lives of many of us who lean on the music and art scene, either as an escape or for our very livelihoods. As the diverse city that we all know and love, Houston is home to an extraordinary amount of talent, and we miss it all! Paul Cuervas will produce an online Variety Show where Houston cultures can clash, in a positive way, to showcase an array of music, performances, and visual art, to inspire Youth, Black, Latinx, and Asian American communities to vote in Harris County. The show will be broadcast on FB Live and YouTube Live in October. This event will emphasize the urgency to get out and vote, leading up to the broadcast, during the broadcast, and after it airs as people share it.

Paul Cuevas

At a young age I surrounded myself with music and entertainment, I was not sure how I would make a career out of it but I deeply desired to. In my teens and 20’s I moonlighted as a musician and sound engineer, but it never transpired into anything “big”, I did however get to share the stage with some of the most talented and humble musicians. I worked for a corporate restaurant chain in during that time and quickly rose through the ranks eventually becoming manager of multiple locations. I mention that because it laid the groundwork for the leadership and organizational skills I would attain that have truly helped shape my approach toward business and my future endeavors. Since then I obtained an Associates in Music Business from Houston Community College and am completing an Entertainment and Recording Management Degree at Texas Southern University. I currently own and operate Soalz Media, a digital media and production company. Soalz Media has been contracted to produce events and campaigns for LiveNation, Top Golf, Harley Davidson, Anheuser Busch, Lexus, and others since I established in 2014. In addition, I commit to delivering yearly events that celebrate the Latinx music and culture, it’s my way to give back to my community and the city I love most. Those events include “Dreaming of You, a Tribute Inspired by Selena”, “Hispanic Heritage Fest”, and “All About the Kids Christmas”. All of which we collaborated with other organizations in order to reach a wider community, these groups include the Houston Latina Bloggers, Houston Millennials, Houston Blues Society, One Love Athena, and National Hispanic Professional Organization.
